Stone Caught In Urethra

Music without limits?

The Virgin Media cable TV is launching a subscription service to download unlimited music through a partnership with the first global music company, Universal.

The service, which both parties describe it as the first of its kind in the world, will be launched this year, will allow all customers to Virgin Media with broadband access to stream and download all albums and songs from the catalog of Universal who will, upon payment of a fee.

The music is in mp3 format, then can be played on most devices, including iPods and cell phones .

Virgin said that the collaboration with the music industry will be to combat piracy on its network operations, educating users and terminate your access to the Internet to anyone who breaks the rules repeatedly, but added that no user is logged in permanently.

In recent years the music industry is desperately trying to boost sales digital format to overcome the impact of piracy and has gradually created new online services to offer music in different ways.

Some experts say the sector is not able to make real progress until they offer an unlimited subscription service, where the price is included in other charges such as monthly for broadband, so that customers forget to keep paying for music.

Universal Music Group of Vivendi, has also approved a subscription service for online music company with more British pay-TV, BSkyB.
