for quick search and launch programs on a Mac OSX I found a utility called Himmelb. The program is freeware and looks like a cloud in the Finder.
Himmelb provides a menu bar icon for quick access to installed applications by scanning standard locations such as the local user, network, network and developer applications. You can also add a custom location such as the Classic Applications folder, or any other folder on your hard disk that contains applications.
For example I'm collecting a wide range of applications, "Portable" Mac OSX and I have grouped on the disk in a directory called PortableApps

Himmelb can be downloaded from the site http://softbend.free.fr/himmelbar/index.html also is available in the following languages: Danish, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, English, Swedish, Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese. Pity it is not OpenSource.
Also tonight all, hoping that the next steps so long.
